Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation & powder.
I'm usually a loyal powder buyer, but as I was buying some bits on 3 for 2 I thought I'd go for a more expensive powder than usual (I'm usually a Rimmel Stay Matte fan. I'm ridiculously happy I've found both these products, as I honestly don't think my make up has looked better!
The foundation for starters, actually suits my vampire pale skin perfectly. Obviously I got the lightest shade, but I always do and most drugstore foundations end up too dark for me. This is just perfect, and a little seems to go a long way. It claims to last 16 hours; I applied it this morning ontop of a primer, and it began to slip a bit at around 11 hours in. Which for me, is pretty good going. Usually I end up applying more around mid afternoon. I'm not a huge fan of the plastic bottle, but I think it pushes up everytime it's pumped out, so at least you won't get the waste you usually will with a glass bottle. This will be a 100% repurchase for me, I think I've found my perfect foundation!
I was a bit skeptical buying a new powder, as the Rimmel one has served me pretty well for many years, although it did sometimes leave my face cakey. The first thing I noticed was the packaging, which I love. As you can see it has a hinged opening and a mirror inside which is always handy. The second is the smell.. It's gorgeous! I've never known of a powder having a scent, so it was a nice surprise. It doesn't stick around for long, but it's still nice whilst you're applying. It's matte which is perfect for me with oily skin, and it definitely keeps my face looking matte for the whole day, usually I can feel oil on my forehead and cheeks by this time, but I can only feel the tiniest bit. And again, the shade is perfect for my pale skin.
I really, really couldn't be happier with both of these products! I'm sure they'll remain firm favourites for a long time! Have you tried either of these out? Any other great Bourjois products I need to hear about?
(sorry for using an almost identical picture as recently, yesterday I got a stye in my eye and it's fully swollen up!)
I know how you feel about buying new powders, I think we all have one that works so well with our skin, I know I find it hard when buying a new one.
ReplyDeleteThe make up looks great xxx

I never even thought to check out Healthy Mix because they never do pale foundations in Boots! I'll have to go and check it out on your recommendation :) x
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great foundation! Your skin looks flawless :) xx
ReplyDeleteI have used this foundation and I used it all up until I hit the end of the bottle - I loved it! I have since switched to a MAC foundation and I can actually say that I am missing the Bourjois one a lot :( And for a fraction of the price, it's unreal! My only issue with it is the packaging as my pump would often clog up and take about 20 pumps to get anything out (but maybe that was just mine!) x
ReplyDeleteThis looks really good. I quite like Bourjois - their dinky round eyeshadows are lovely - but recently I had an awfully exprerience with their felt tip eyeliner, which wanted to go everywhere BUT my eyes! I absolutely love your blog. I'm following you and I'd love it if you could follow me back? Anyway, keep up the amazing work! Felicity x

Could definitely use this. I've heard good things about bourjois.
ReplyDeleteI really need a new foundation, I always tend to stick to what I know but I'm tempted to try something new for a change xxx
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! It really does make your skin look totally flawless :-) Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've got the powder and the healthy mix 'serum' foundation today - they do smell gorgeous! Also there is an offer in Superdrug to get a free Bourjois mascara with any Bourjois foundation purchased! so it was a win-win.
ReplyDeleteWas slightly disappointed there was no applicator in the powder but it seems to do exactly as it say on the lid, and the mirror is nice and large.
