Like most of you, I have to keep my nails up to date and "on trend" (cringe!). In Summer it was pastels, polka dots, stripes, and neon, and now it's Winter I go for darker colours; nudes, grey, berry, deep reds. Tartan is a big trend for this A/W so I thought I'd give it a go on my nails to get out of the leopard print/glitter rut I seemed to be stuck in.
I started off painting all my base colours. I saw this combination online, but when it came down to it I'm not so keen, although I think all red tartan nails may have been a bit much. After a couple coats I painted on the black lines to create the tartan check pattern. Once dry, I then added on the metallic nude colour. I really wish I had a nail art pen which was a glitter gold as I think that would have looked much nicer. I'll have to search for some on ebay!
It was an easy design to do, but one I'm not 100% sold on. I like it, but something just isn't quite right! What do you think of the design? Would you do tartan nails these season?
I love tartan nails but I haven't had a chance to try them yet! I think I'm going to try it with a berry red! I got a gold glitter nail art pen in a really cheap set of 24 pens on ebay! x

I looooove doing nail art; I've had a nail inspiration board on my pinterest ever since I first signed up haha. There's one that looks like the classic Burberry pattern that I've been waiting to do until it got chilly (now's the time!)!

Lol at "on trend" - I remember the manager saying it constantly when I worked in a shop and now everyone's using it, it really is cringey! Your nails look lovely! x
