Topshop Lipstick in 'Hedonist' £7, available here.
'Hedonist' is my first venture into Topshop make-up (I know, I know, I am miles behind with the times!). An orange-red lip is my go-to when I'm feeling a bit 'meh'. I know some who think the colour should be only used by people with olive or darker skin, but I love the look of it on pale skin and have experimented with various different shades and brands over the past couple of years.
I really like the idea of lip stick pens, and whilst I have been yearning for Nars products, I've stuck to cheap and cheerful ELF Studio Matte lip pencils, coral being my favourite. The Topshop one is clearly more expensive, so I was expected a better product. First off, I prefer the packaging by a mile. I know ultimately the packaging doesn't matter if the product is rubbish, but the packaging has always drawn me to the Topshop make up lines, especially the polka dot nail varnishes! The formula is also a lot nicer with the Topshop lipstick, as it does go on creamily whereas other ones do drag my lips a bit. It does show up any dry skin on my lips which is a bit of a downfall, so I've been wearing it with a lipbalm on top, but I'm planning on buying a lip scrub asap to just sort the dry lips situation out anyway!
The colour is really beautiful, and I love the pen style of it as it's so easy to apply. I'm not entirely sure about how long it lasts on the lips as I'm really quite paranoid about those sorts of things so I'm always reapplying anyway, but I've heard greats things about it. Overall I'm really happy with the product and will hopefully get to try out the other colours soon! Do you have this? Are you a fan of Topshop make-up?
This looks gorgeous! I am yet to give Topshop makeup a try. I'd love to find my perfect red lip, but it's so hard with red hair! xx
ReplyDeleteI have really pale skin too so I'm gonna find a similar shade as it suits you beautifully. I rarely wear lipstick but I think a bit of red lippy can give you a good boost when you're feeling a bit 'meh' of a morning! Brightens you up and adds a bit of colour to your face.
ReplyDeleteoh this looks so pretty on you! I've got some topshop lippies but I've never tried these pens before.. xx
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely on you! x
ReplyDeleteI wish we had a topshop here in the states!! I've always lusted for their makeup, mainly because of the packaging, and this lip stick looks like a lovely part of their line! :)

ReplyDeleteI love Topshop make-up, I have quite a few of their lipsticks and nail polishes. I've not tried any of their lip pencils, this is a gorgeous colour so I may try it x
ReplyDeleteSirens and Bells
That is a really nice shade of red!
ReplyDeleteI have never tried their make up, just some of the nail polish. I wasn't very happy as one of them tinted my nails an orangey hue. Classy! Would expect better for the price they cost - Barry M is a lot cheaper and rarely had that problem... ha well.
That colour looks fab on you! I love their cream blusher, I've been using it since it was launched, can't remember the shade (it's neon pink), too expensive for me so I ask for it for my birthday and it lasts a good year. x
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous colour. Never tried orange red lips! I usually go for safe peaches, pinks and nudes. xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful colour, you're very pretty! Xo
ReplyDeleteLove that colour so much! But then I love anything orange toned. I know what you mean, I'm a total sucker for packaging. I love topshop nail varnish and their cream blush! xx
