I seriously love a good brooch. More and more I find myself accessorising every outfit with one and leaving out the more basic jewellery like necklaces and bracelets. Sometimes there is a bit of a stigma behind brooches, that they're a bit granny-ish or for older ladies, but I don't think that's true at all. Take the little yellow bunny pin I found at a car boot for 50p, you'd be more likely to see it on a child than a grandma!

I really just love the look and little bit extra they give an outfit, and I really want to build my little collection up even more. All of my brooches I got at charity shops or car boots, the cheapest being around 50p and the most expensive being £5, but only because it's a Stratton, fur and came in the original box. I also recently got the little deer brooch I bought on ebay through the post. It's from Hong Kong so took a while to arrive, especially as it was Christmas, but it cost just £2.19 and I can't wait to wear it! What do you think of brooches, do you have any?

  1. Oh wow I adore this post! I must have around 40 brooches and I love them! My boyfriend takes the mickey out of me for wearing them. I love them on a coat. I buy mine from charity shops and bootsales too and refuse to pay for than £3. Luckily i received bundles when my great-nan and nan dies but they're too precious to wear out!

  2. Ah I love that stag brooch! I need to wear more of them, I've not found any that have really caught my eye though and the ones that have are always above what I'd like to pay. That bunny one was an absolute steal at 50p!

  6. I love your brooches! However, I am not good at wearing them. I have this weird OCD that the brooches make holes in clothes and I'm always terrified it may happen to me! ;) LOL! X

  7. What a lovely collection! I have loads that I've collected from the grannies in my family, but I normally end up taking them to vintages fairs to sell as I never quite know how to wear them - how do you wear yours? x

  16. Nice collection - I like the bunny! I don't personally wear them very much - I tend to wear all other jewellery instead. But I just can't stop buying them for my vintage shop. Love them :) x
